Joachim Sundland (19.9.1857 i Trondheim - 14.6.1914 i Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, USA ) var sønn av megler i Trondhjem Joachim Sundland (1825 i Trondheim-1899) og Oline Sofie Bredahl (1827 i Trondheim-). Bror til: Ole Arndt Sundland.
Gift med Hilda Sundland (4.6.1867 i Sverige-5.2.1942 i Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska), datter av .

Joachim Sundland var elev ved Trondhjems tekniske læreanstalt. Uteksaminert 1876 ved mek.-tekn. linje. 1876-80 ved stadskonduktørens og jernbanekontoret i Trondhjem.
Emigrerte 1880 til Albert Lea, Amerika. 1881-82 ved Santa Fe Railroad, Topeka, Kansas. 1883-88 chief engineer ved California Southern. 1889 stadsingeniør i San Bernadino, California. 1890-1908 ved Union Pacific R.R., Omaha, Nebraska.

Johan Sundland, 1911 Spencer street, died Sunday, and Coroner Crosby has started an investigation. Sundland was thrown from a street car Saturday, but apparently recovered following emergency treatment at a nearby drug store, and walked to his home.
A post-mortem and an inquest will be held by the coroner Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday afternoon.
He was listed on the 1900 census for Omaha, Nebraska living with his wife Hilda and daughter Ruth. His name was spelled Joskin Sundland on the census, and his date of birth was listed as September, 1859. He worked as a civil engineer. The census states he immigrated to the United States in 1880 and had become a naturalized citizen. He and Hilda were married around 1885.
