Hans Fjøsne

Sivilingeniør Hans Fjøsne (am. Fiosne) (11.5.1892 i Lyster - 10.10.1984 i Orion, Henry County, Illinois) var sønn av gårdbruker Melchior Fjøsne (28.10.1834- 21.2.1922 i Lyster) og Anna Johanna Fladtun (9.8.1857- 8.4.1951).

Hans Fjøsne tok eksamen artium 1916 ved Bergen katedralskole, eksamen 1921 fra Kjemilinjen NTH.

Hans Fjøsne utvandret til Amerika 18.3.1922. Metallurg i 1935 i Neroqua, Wisconsin, senere bosatt i East Moline.

Gift 12.2.1938 i Clinton, Iowa med Edna Mildred Grant (1.12.1899 i Sunny Hill, Henry County , Illinois - 5.3.1990 i Moline, Rock Island County , Rock Island, Illinois,), datter av Walter Grant (1867-1921) og Annie Blair (1867-1932).

Obituary Edna Fiosne;

Services for Edna Grand Fiosne, 90, East Moline are 10 a.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Private burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. There is no visitation.

Mrs. Fiosne died March 5th while visiting relatives at Bainbridge Island, Wash. The former Edna Mildred Grant was born 01 Dec 1889, in Sunny Hill, near Orion. She married Hans M. Fiosne in 1938 in Moline. He died Oct. 10, 1984. She moved to Moline with her family in 1909. She graduated from Moline High School in 1917 and Augustana College in 1922. She taught at Moline High School until 1930, when she became reference librarian and cataloger at Moline Public Library. She and her husband lived in Moline until 1950 when they built their home overlooking the Mississippi River. She was a member of Emma Kough Circle of King's Daughters and Phi Rho Sorority at Augustana College. She and her husband traveled extensively in the United States, the Caribbean, and the Far East, and for many summers they were familiar figures on the Mississippi River in their sailboat "Norma" which was designed and built by Mr. FIOSNE. Survivors include a nephew and his wife, Henry and Betty Knutsen, with whom she lived.
