Erling Antonius Normann (30.12.1899 i Bø i Trondenes - 20.11.1956 i Cook County, Illinois ) var sønn av Akim Normann Hansen (1863- 1914) og hustru Anna Katrine Eliasdatter (1869-). Gift med Alice Ely Jorgensen (3.6.1911 i New York-), datter av George Jorgensen (1881-) og Josie (1883-). Barn: Rolf Grefstad Normann (30.1.1938-).

Erling A. Normann, a graduate from Trondhjems Technical Collage, came to Amerika in the twenties, and was put in charge of engineering in office and field for the Blue Bell Constrution company. In 1935 he became a designing engineer with the sanitary district of Chicago during its construction of $ 70.000.000 omprovement project, which included the largest treatment plant of the world. Later he eas put in charge of the structural design of the major sections of the Chicago river Controlling works. Since 1938 he has been eployed by the United States government. Engineer-examiner in Chicago for the federal government.
